Free artificial limb fitment camp held in Baramulla

Srinagar: A Free Artificial Limb Fitment Camp was organised by Indian Army in association with BhagwanMahaveerViklangSahaytaSamiti (BMVSS) at ChinarYuva, Baramulla from 16-18 Oct 2023, a defence spokesman said in a statement.

He said that this endeavour is a follow up to a similar camp started last year and organised by Indian Army at Baramulla in association with BMVSS wherein the specially abled people got a new ray of hope. “An expert panel of prosthetists from BMVSS were present to ensure best suited fitment of limbs and calipers. The measurements were taken during the camp as per the requirements of the beneficiaries. In addition, equipment and accessories like Auxiliary Crutches, Wheel Chairs, Polio Calipers and Hearing Aids were also distributed free of cost,” the spokesman added.

He said that  174 patients including children from Baramulla district were benefitted during the camp. The Indian Army is steadfast in its outreach to all section of the Awam in the valley for their betterment.
