ABRS organizes event, pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, Nirmala Deshpande

Srinagar: Akhil Bharat Rachnatmak Samaj (ABRS) J&K paid tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi by organizing a special event to commemorate his enduring legacy and values here at its Srinagar office.

The event includes a detailed meeting with the organisation’s National President to discuss future initiatives and strategies.

The meeting was presided over by Bibhuti K. Mishra, National President for ABRS, wherein the J&K chapter of the organisation was led by its State Executive President, Shaukat Ashai.

During the meeting various important issues were discussed and a deliberated discussion on the future course of action was held, in which all the members present, put forth their opinions and suggestions.

“Mahatma Gandhi and Didi Nirmala Deshpande, known for their unwavering commitment to truth, non-violence, and social justice, remains an inspiration to people worldwide. On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, ABRS J&K is dedicated to upholding his principles and spreading his message of peace and harmony,” Ashai said.

The entire team of ABRS J&K expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha for facilitating their National President for his outstanding contributions towards the Gandhian institutions and social activities.

The gathering was also addressed by Sr. Vice President, ABRS J&K Shabir Ahmad, where he highlighted the importance of the moral values and teaching of Didi Nirmala Deshpande. He stressed upon all the members to adapt the teaching and believes in their daily routine.

Er. Ehtisham Khan, State General Secretary for Akhil Bharat Rachnatmak Samaj J&K, expressed the importance of this event, saying, “Mahatma Gandhi’s principles are timeless, and we are committed to promoting his vision of a better world. This event and subsequent meeting with our National President enabled us to chart a course that aligns with Gandhi’s ideals.”

“We at ABRS invite all individuals and organizations who share a passion for social change and Gandhian values to join us. Together, we can work towards a more just, peaceful, and sustainable future,” Khan said.

In the end, two minutes of silence was observed as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Didi Nirmala Deshpande.

The meeting was attended by the entire State Executive Committee including Sonaullah State President, Muzaffar Kareem Vice President (Kashmir), Prof. Nighat Ara Secretary, Aijay Khan Treasurer, Dr. Lubna Khan, Tahira Akhtar, Zaigam Muzaffar, Shahnaz Parveen, Sabia Mahajan, Mehjabeen, Irfana, Sanjeet Kaur, State Executive Committee members.
