Srinagar: In a significant move aimed at fostering talent and promoting sports activities in the region, the Administrative Council (AC) of Jammu and Kashmir has given the green light to the creation of the “Jammu and Kashmir Sports Cadre” under the administrative control of the Youth Service and Sports Department.
Alongside this historic decision, the AC has also sanctioned the creation of 235 posts, including 10 Gazetted positions, which will be utilized for the appointment of outstanding sportspersons. This groundbreaking decision is expected to invigorate the sports landscape in the union territory and inspire young athletes to excel in their chosen disciplines.
According to the officials the creation of the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Cadre marks a crucial step forward in recognizing and nurturing sporting talent within the region.
