Srinagar: Police arrested two terrorist associates linked with LeT in Gudoora area of Pulwama district on Friday and recovered incriminating materials from their possession.
In a statement issued here, a spokesperson said that acting on specific intelligence input, an intensive search was conducted by Police in the apple orchards of Gudoora.
The statement reads that during search operation, 2 terrorist associates were apprehended tactfully. They have been identified as Suhail Firdous son of Firdous Ahmad Sheikh of Mahradpora Utterpora Puchal and Shahid Gul son of Gh Mohd. Bhat of Wagum Pulwama.
“From their possession incriminating materials were recovered. The investigation revealed that both the accused are terrorist associates of an active terrorist Aqib Sher Gojri linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT,” it reads.
It added that preliminary investigation also reveals that they were in a conspiracy with terrorist Aqib Sher-Gojri to carry out terrorist attacks in Pulwama.
“A case vide FIR No. 239/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation has been taken up,” it reads.
Police along with Army apprehended a hybrid terrorist and his associate in Pakharpora area of Budgam district on Friday.
A spokesperson said that the duo has been identified as Tanveer Ahmad Bhat and his associate Yawer Maqbool Ganai.
The statement reads that preliminary investigation revealed that the duo was operating with TRF in Pakherpora area. “From their possession, arms & ammunition including a pistol, pistol magazine, 9 rounds and other incriminating material were recovered.”
It added that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation has been taken up.
