Kupwara: A 12-year-old boy died after being allegedly hit by a tractor in the frontier district of Kupwara on Monday morning, official sources said.
They said in the Chemkote area, a tractor (JK09C-0019) hit a boy Nooran Shah son of Khadim Hussain of Chamkote Karnah leading to on spot death of the boy.
Police seized the tractor, arrested the driver, and registered a case under relevant sections of law.
In another incident in the same district, a 31-year-old youth died after a tractor-turned turtle near Batawari area of Kralgund Handwara.
The victim was identified as Asif Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Wani of Mongwalpora Kralgund.
Official sources said that the youth succumbed on his way to Community Health Centre Kralgund. (KNT)
