Srinagar: An awareness programme on drug menace was organised by National Educational Society and Social Welfare Organisation, Project of National Institute of Social Defence, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India at T K College of Education Lawaypora Srinagar.
The programme was attended by the Students and Teachers, who pledged to fight against the drug menace.
Speaking on the occasion, Nusrat Rehman Principal T K College of Education stressed upon the participants to adhere to religious teachings and pledge to fight against the menace that has engulfed people irrespective of age and gender.
“If we have to save our future generations from this menace, we need to give moral as well as religious education to our children. The Holy Quran is the best guide for us and we should follow its teachings in letter and spirit,” she said.
On the occasion, Rahi Riyaz Ahmed Prominent Social Activist and well-known expert highlighted the crucial role of educational institutions play in shaping young minds and instilling values that discourage drug abuse. He stressed the importance of collaborative efforts to safeguard the well-being of the youth and build a stronger and healthier society.
During the programme, various speakers, including experts in the field of addiction, shared their knowledge and experiences, shedding light on the psychological, physical, and social ramifications of drug addiction. Interactive sessions were conducted to engage attendees, encouraging them to actively participate in creating a supportive environment for those in recovery.
