J&K’s concerted efforts towards welcoming private investments bring Areesha hospital to UT

Srinagar: In a significant stride towards bolstering the healthcare infrastructure of Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha laid the foundation stone for the Areesha Royal Hospital & Medical College at the Medicity in Srinagar.

The monumental event, marked by its potential to revolutionize medical care in the region, witnessed the participation of key dignitaries and stakeholders.

The Areesha Royal Hospital & Medical College, a state-of-the-art medical facility boasting 500 beds, received an impressive investment of Rs 558.66 crore, promising to offer modern medical amenities and services to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir.

Lieutenant Governor Sinha, during his address, highlighted the comprehensive benefits that this initiative would bring to the region.

“The establishment of Areesha Royal Hospital & Medical College is a visionary step towards enhancing the healthcare sector in J&K. This medical institution will not only provide advanced medical care but will also create a plethora of employment opportunities for the youth and healthcare professionals,” asserted Lieutenant Governor Sinha.

An official while talking to Precious Kashmir said, “The project’s significance extends beyond medical services alone. It is set to augment the educational landscape by adding an additional 100 MBBS seats, bolstering medical education and research in the region. This establishment is poised to become a pivotal hub for medical learning and scholarly exploration, bolstering the healthcare system with well-trained medical professionals.”

“J&K’s concerted efforts towards welcoming private investments in medical infrastructure have culminated in the creation of the Areesha Royal Hospital & Medical College. This strategic initiative is aligned with the administration’s overarching goals of offering contemporary, holistic, and high-quality healthcare facilities throughout the Union Territory,” he added.
