Srinagar: The Traffic police Srinagar on Tuesday directed the e-rickshaw drivers to ply on the routes as per the law and avoid the overcharging.

Slogans were raised by the e-rickshaw drivers soon after they agreed to the directions from the office of Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic, City Srinagar, which include to ply onroutes as per law, no overloading and overcharging.

Talking to media persons here at Traffic office, the e-rickshaw drivers said the SP Traffic of Srinagar city has given a patient hearing to their pleas and has resolved their issues, which they have been raising for the past few days.

The e-rickshaw drivers were instructed to ply smoothly on the already provided routes, but ensure there is no overcharging and overloading as well.

Meanwhile, SP Traffic, Muzaffar Shah said that he has guided the e-rickshaw drivers to ply as per law, and avoid over leading and over charging.

“This e-rickshaw is a public transport and they should ply as per the law, and besides this we haven’t given them any specific instructions, as they can ply on the already issued routes,” he said.

“The e-rickshaw drivers should install the number plate and complete all formalities with RTO and after that they can ply normally on the routes,” he added. (KNO)
