Awaam-Ki-Awaaz builds trust, strengthens bond between Govt and people

Srinagar, July 17: Awaam-Ki-Awaaz program has become one of the most popular programs in Jammu and Kashmir, creating a platform for the public to speak directly with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
This initiative has gained immense popularity due to its inclusivity and engagement with the youth.

Pertinently, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who took charge of the Union Territory in August 2020, had initiated this novel concept as a way to understand and address the pressing issues faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Since its inception, Awaam Ki Awaaz has attracted a wide range of participants, including local residents, activists, students, and professionals. The program is structured as an open discussion where people can express their concerns, suggestions, and feedback on various matters concerning the region to LG Sinha.

An official while talking to Precious Kashmir said, “The program aims to bridge the gap between the government and the public by providing a direct line of communication.”

One of the significant highlights of Awaam Ki Awaaz has been the focus on the achievements and potential of the youth in Jammu and Kashmir.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has been actively promoting the talent and innovative ideas of the young generation, aiming to provide them with a platform to showcase their abilities.

During the program, the Lieutenant Governor has emphasized the importance of youth empowerment and has highlighted several success stories.

Recently the Lt Governor made a special mention of Shakir Ahmad, Adnan Mushtaq and Furqan Rashid, students of GHSS, Kreeri, Baramulla who have developed an Apple Grader and are inspiring others to fulfill their dreams. “I feel proud when I see that young boys and girls are working on new inventions, innovations with enthusiasm”, he said.

The program, according to the observers, has witnessed the participation of numerous young change-makers who have taken up projects revolving around education, skill development, and entrepreneurship.
“Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has recognized their efforts, providing them with a platform to share their initiatives and seek collaboration from various stakeholders,” said an observer.

“The success of Awaam Ki Awaaz can be attributed to its approach of inclusivity and transparency. The program encourages individuals from all walks of life to participate actively and share their opinions. The Lieutenant Governor has consistently emphasized the need for open and honest discussions to address the challenges faced by Jammu and Kashmir effectively,” he added.

“Moreover, Awaam Ki Awaaz has played a vital role in building trust and strengthening the bond between the government and the people. It has become a symbol of accountable governance, enabling citizens to voice their concerns directly to the highest authority,” the observer said.
