Srinagar: In a significant move aimed at enhancing the experience of tourists visiting Kashmir, the Tourism Department has established a dedicated helpline desk at the Tourist Reception Centre in Srinagar.
According to the officials this initiative aims to ensure that tourists do not face any problems during their visit and to provide prompt assistance in overcoming any difficulties they may encounter. “The purpose of the help desk is to provide guidance, information, and support to visitors so that their travel experience becomes more convenient and hassle-free. The desk will ensure that tourists have access to assistance at any time of the day,” said an official.
He said, “The establishment of the dedicated helpline desk is part of the Tourism Department’s ongoing efforts to enhance facilities and services for tourists in the region. In addition to the helpline, several other facilities have been enhanced to ensure the convenience and satisfaction of visitors.”
A travel agent said, “The Tourism Department and local stakeholders are focusing on customer service skills. Our collective aim is to ensure that tourists enjoy their stay in the Valley and visit the scenic and historic places across Kashmir.”
He said, “The helpline desk is a welcome step as it would provide accurate information and recommendations to tourists, enabling them to make the most of their visit.”
He said, “Need of the hour is to strengthen coordination between various stakeholders involved in the tourism sector, including hoteliers, tour operators, and transporters. This collaboration would streamline services and provide tourists with seamless connectivity and hassle-free travel experiences.”
A hotelier said, “Through effective coordination, the Tourism Department can address any potential challenges or issues that may arise during tourists’ stay and ensure quick resolution.”
A top official of the Tourism Department said, “The dedicated helpline desk is part of our ongoing efforts to offer world-class facilities and services to tourists visiting Kashmir. We want tourists to feel welcomed, safe, and supported throughout their journey, and this initiative is a testament to our commitment.”
Director, Tourism, Kashmir, Raja Yaqoob urged the tourists to utilize the services of this dedicated helpline to get their grievances resolved in minimum time.
He said the Department is committed to provide better facilities and services to tourists visiting the Valley.
