2 siblings among 7 killed in Doda, Ramban accidents 

Doda/Ramban: Two siblings among seven people were killed while 12 people were injured in twin road accidents in Doda and Ramban districts of Jammu on Tuesday, officials said.

Officials told KNO that two vehicles skidded off the road and plunged into deep gorges at Guldanda in Doda and Rampaari at Ramban. They said that seven people lost lives and 12 sustained injuries in the accidents.

They said an Alto car (JK02N-1856) skidded off the road and fell into a 200-feet deep gorge along Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Rampari Chamalvas in Ramban.

“One person died on the spot while two more persons were seriously injured and among them, one succumbed on the way to hospital,” they said.

The deceased brothers have been identified as Mohammad Afzal Malik son of Gull Mohammad Malik and Mohd Azmat son of Gull Mohammad both from Sarbagni and injured identified as Shabir Ahmed Malik son of Gull Mohammad Malik from Sarbagni.

In another accident near Guldanda on Bhaderwah Pathankot road in Doda district five people killed and eleven were injured after a Trax vehicle (JK06-5071) they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell 250 metres deep gorge, officials said. They said injured people were shifted to a hospital for treatment.

The deceased has been identified as Ghulam Nabi from Ludna Doda, Vinod Kumar from Monda, Firdous Ahmed from Basoli Bani and Barkatullah from Babrobal while another remains unidentified.

Injured were identified as Irshad Ahmad, Rafiq Ahmad, Mohd Shafiq all from Doda, Nazir Ahmead, Riaz Ahmad both from Gundna Doda, Naresh Kumar from Bani, Tariq Ahmead from Nalthi, Mohammad Abdullah, Bilal Ahmead, Sadiq Ali all from Kudola Doda, Nadeem Ahmad from Bikthryan Doda.

Police have registered cases and started investigations into the accidents.
