Gen-Next faces completely different future, learning moves beyond classrooms      

Srinagar:  Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha while addressing IUST convocation recently impressed on the universities, educational institutions and the teaching community to adapt to a future-oriented learning approach that goes beyond the classrooms and prepares the students for the future challenges and opportunities.
He said, “Technology is moving faster than ever before and it is increasingly transforming the way we live, socialize, travel and work. Our human capital is facing a completely different future and it is time that our classrooms and campus recognize the radical shift and create a new ecosystem.”
A prominent educationist while seconding the speech of LG Sinha said, “As the world is evolving rapidly, it is crucial for universities, educational institutions, and the teaching community to adapt their approaches to education, going beyond the traditional classroom setting.”
He said, “Students have to be prepared for future challenges and opportunities, a future-oriented learning approach has gained prominence. This approach equips students with the necessary skills, knowledge, and mindset to thrive in an ever-changing world.”
An observer while talking to Precious Kashmir said, “Its important for all of us to recognize  the importance of this paradigm shift, educational institutions are reimagining their curricula, integrating technology, and fostering innovation to ensure students are well-prepared for the future.”
He said, “In an era characterized by rapid advancements in technology and globalization, the landscape of education has significantly transformed. The traditional model of imparting knowledge through lectures and textbooks alone is no longer sufficient. To meet the demands of a dynamic world, universities and educational institutions are embracing future-oriented learning approaches that go beyond the confines of the classroom.”
Pertinently, the New Education Policy (NEP) introduced by the government focuses on equipping students with skills and knowledge that are relevant in the 21st century. It goes beyond textbook learning, emphasizing critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, adaptability, and digital literacy. By integrating technology and experiential learning, students are being prepared to navigate the challenges and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.
“Technology is playing a pivotal role in a future-oriented learning approach. It’s enabling students to access vast amounts of information, collaborate with peers globally, and engage in interactive and immersive learning experiences. Universities and educational institutions are leveraging digital tools, online platforms, and virtual classrooms to facilitate personalized and adaptive learning environments. This ensures that students are equipped with the digital skills necessary for success in the digital age,’ said a teacher.
He said, “Educational institutions are encouraging students to think creatively, take risks, and develop an entrepreneurial mindset. By providing incubation centers, mentorship programs, and opportunities for real-world problem-solving, universities are nurturing the next generation of innovators and change-makers.”
