Class X Result

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education exam results for classes X reflects that most of the students have done better. Overall nearly 80% students were declared to have qualified the examinations which were held earlier this year.

For the first time this year, Kashmir and Jammu divisions’ exams along with Ladakh were conducted simultaneously as part of the uniform academic calendar.

Like recent 12th class results, the girls outshined boys with an overall pass percentage of 81.68 percent compared to 78.23 percent by their male counterparts.

All stakeholders including the students and parents should be commended for putting up a good show.

The students who have done better and succeeded need to take future challenges with more authority while those who could not qualify must not lose heart and prepare better in future to excel in life.

One hopes that the successful students are pivoted to new opportunities. They need to work hard as there is no substitute for hard work and perseverance.

Coming back to the results and grand success scripted by students, 13823 secured A1 grade (90-100% marks), 18489 got A2 (80-89% marks) while 24147 achieved B1 grade (70-79% marks), according the result declared by the J&KBOSE on June 19.

There is also need for acknowledging and appreciating the efforts of the teacher fraternity and parents in particular for their efforts as well.

Comparing the result from previous years, this year, the number of students scoring high has gone up. But all this does not necessarily signify an improvement in the learning environment. There are enough studies to show that the evaluation criteria of the Board examinations do not encourage students to go beyond a rudimentary understanding of the subject, at best. Nevertheless the examinations are important and a step towards excelling in divergent fields.  The students who have done better need to continue with good work and carry on to work hard and those who have qualified but could not get the scores they would have wished for must work harder to achieve the desired results. All students must realize that the next couple of years are career defining ones and as such they need not to be distracted by anything, more so due to excess use of mobile telephony. Technology is required to be utilized for good rather than in a manner that is regarded as waste of time. The students must devote their time to studies and make every endeavor to excel in life.
