Pre-conference workshops under NeoCon-2023 conducted at hospitals
Anantnag: Department of Pediatrics and Neonatology, Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag plays a pivotal in conducting pre-conference workshops of north zone NeoCon-2023 at various hospitals in Kashmir on Thursday.
North Zone NeoCon 2023, which is being held at SKICC, Srinagar, from June 9 to June 10, 2023, is the first ever Zonal Neocon to be held at Jammu and Kashmir.
The workshops were conducted at GMC Anantnag, GMC Srinagar GMC Baramullah, JLNM Hospital and Noora hospital Srinagar. They focused on several important areas related to neonatal health and medical practice.
Topics covered included neonatal resuscitation, neonatal ventilation, Quality improvement, neonatal nursing and other common neonatal health issues and interventions. The workshops also focused on providing participants with the latest advancements and updates in the field of neonatology.
“The workshops were designed to update healthcare professionals with the latest evidence-based practices and equip them with the necessary skills to improve neonatal care and outcomes,” said Dr. Showkat Hussain Tali, Associate Professor Pediatrics and Neonatologist at GMC Anantnag.
The workshops were conducted by a team of experienced neonatologists from across the country. The national coordinators for the workshops were Dr. Adarsh, Dr. Lalan Bharti, Dr. Pramita Anand, Dr. Kumar Ankur, Dr. Ankur Thakur, and Ms. Savita. The local coordinators included Dr Mohd Ashraf Bhat, Dr Shahid Hussain Wani, Dr Mubashir Hassan Shah, Dr Suhail Naik, Dr Reyaz Ahmad Mallah, Dr Yasir Wani, Dr Tanveer Bashir, Dr Waseem Iqbal, Dr Mohammad Irshad and Dr Ishfaq Masood.
The workshops were well-received by the participants, who said that they were able to learn a lot about neonatal care. “The workshops were very informative and helpful,” said Dr. Ashraf Bhat, local coordinator for basic NRP workshop.
“I learned a lot about neonatal assessment and management, and I am confident that this knowledge will help me to improve the care of my patients,” was said by one of the participants.
The workshops were a success and are expected to contribute to the improvement of neonatal care in Kashmir. The organizers are grateful to the administrations of all the hospitals where the workshops were held, for their support.
It is pertinent to mention here that executive board meeting of “National Neonatology Form (NNF)” was also 1st time conducted in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir at Srinagar today.
