Sopore, May 5: Massive winds and hail storms wreaked havoc in parts of the Zaingeer area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday afternoon, causing damage to orchards, with farmers seeking compensation for losses.
Gusty winds and hailstorms damaged the orchards and a few houses in Zaingeer. However, there was no causality or injury reported from any part.
The authorities are collecting the details from various places.
Meanwhile, the affected orchardists have demanded “comprehensive compensation” and urged the government to assess the damages immediately. (KNO)
