Discusses functioning of Battalions

Jammu: A meeting chaired by M N Tiwari, IGP Armed/IRP Zone Jammu was on Monday held at the Zonal Armed Police Headquarters of Jammu.

The meeting was attended by Nisha Nathyal, DIG Armed/IRP Range Jammu, Manjit Kour, SO to IGP Armed/IRP Zone Jammu and All Commandants of AP/IR units of Jammu Zone with the aim of addressing various issues related to the Battalions.

The meeting focused on enhancing their functioning, capacity building, and infrastructure. Emphasis was laid on the significance of welfare and mission statement activities to improve the Battalions’ performance within their mandated domains.

The Commandants were encouraged to personally oversee welfare activities including health checkups and preventive measures, to maintain the morale of staff and officers.

Additionally, it was instructed to incorporate regular sports activities into the daily routines of personnel, and other regimental activities were discussed to improve the work culture dynamics within the Battalions.

The meeting also covered the topic of providing police personnel to local and traffic police for various duties. It was emphasized that when assigned to these roles, staff should display exceptional professionalism, discipline, and dedication. Personnel should be thoroughly briefed and sensitized about their duties to ensure, they deliver their best performance.

The meeting also discussed the training of PSOs, commandos, and pre-promotion courses for Battalion staff. It was decided that they would soon be started in Sunjwan.
