Poonch: The establishment board meeting for welfare and prevention of sexual harassment of women at workplace meetings was on Wednesday held at battalion headquarters of JKAP 6th Bn. under the Chairmanship of Suram Singh, SSP Commandant.
Mohd Farooq Khan SP, Mohd Shafiq-Dy.SP, Ahjaz Ahmed-Dy.SP, Mohd Afzal-Dy.SP & other committee members also participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, a number of officers & jawans of different coys appeared before the board & after giving patience hearing to them, their grievances were disposed of by the establishment board.
Some cases which were beyond the competency of said establishment board were forwarded to higher formations for redressal.
A welfare meeting was also held at said battalion headquarters.
During the meeting, a number of welfare related cases were considered, most of the cases were settled at battalion level in which amount of Rs 2,20,000 was also sanctioned in favour of applicants and jawans to meet their financial needs.
The welfare amount was sanctioned out of unit welfare fund for financial assistance of jawans as welfare measure.
Prevention of sexual harassment of women at workplace meeting was also held at Bn. Hqrs. During the meeting issues pertaining to the safety & problems being faced by the women were taken into consideration. Keeping in view the forth coming Republic Day -2023 and prevailing security scenario, all the GOs & NGOs of this unit were also briefed to strengthen the safety and security in their area of responsibility.
They were also directed to serve the general public in the best possible manner, while strengthening police public relations.
