J&K Govt turns digital

Jammu and Kashmir is emerging as a model of digital government with focus on transparent governance.
During the past few years the government has focused on delivering efficient, effective and accountable governance and to do so it has taken numerous steps.
The J & K government has been focusing on a citizen-centric approach to delivering public services and digitization has played a major role in it.
Technology has made a major difference in the lives of common people. They no longer have to wait in long queues outside the government offices to get their issues and grievances addressed. They can easily register their complaints on the online grievance portals and reach out to the officials.
Initiatives like e-Office, BEAMS-Empowerment, Aapki Zameen-AapkiNigrani, Aap Ka Mobile Hamara Daftar, e-Unnat, Digi Locker, Meri Pehchaan have established accountability and transparency in governance.
Digital J&K internship scheme for youth has provided an opportunity for students to secure first hand and practical work experience in the IT sector.
Despite being a late entrant in digital transformation, J&K has achieved several milestones with solid technical architecture at the service of citizens. Speedy development is the new identity of J&K.
Several digital initiatives of the Rural Development Department have empowered the rural people. In the recently concluded Back to Village program, 3 lakh villagers accessed various government services online.
The J & K government has gone hi-tech with people being the biggest beneficiaries. The new system has changed the very concept of governance. People have understood that the government is for them and they can reach out to anyone. The barrier of inaccessibility has been removed due to the digitization campaign launched by the J&K Government.
The administration has planned the digital transformational journey of Jammu and Kashmir in a very meticulous way. Efforts are on to take e-governance to the next level. In the coming years the government wants to make more than 500 services online for a better digital delivery ecosystem. The aim is to help the people by making all the services accessible on the finger tips by enabling them to access high-quality services anywhere, anytime, on any device.
J&K turning digital is a big achievement as it has helped the people to access any service easily. They no more have to run from pillar to post to get their issues and grievances addressed.
