NEP redefines education

The National Education Policy (NEP) has redefined the entire education eco-system in Jammu and Kashmir.
The NEP focuses on developing the skills of the students so that once they leave their schools and colleges they become employable.
The NEP has redefined the entire education ecosystem. The schools and colleges are promoting innovation, creativity, flexibility and experiments.
The policy has been framed to develop the culture of innovation and invention which is enabling the students to confidently tackle the challenges of the future and contribute towards nation building in various capacities.
Students are being trained in such a way that they come out from schools and colleges as responsible students and lead from the front.
Initiatives like Aao School Chalen Campaign, Talaash Survey, Teachers-Students mentorship programs are yielding favorable results.
According to the official figures nearly 70,000 boys and girls are taking vocational training in 14 different trades and 1420 computer aided learning centers in upper primary school are promoting curiosity, critical thinking in the students.
The very concept of education has changed in Jammu and Kashmir. Studies are not only about keeping the students confined to books only.
Scope of studies extends beyond books and literature they study in classrooms. No nation can progress without its students being active and well informed. The NEP focuses on the all round development of the students. It’s aimed at developing critical thinking and curiosity among the students. The new approach towards education is helping the young minds to think independently and look for answers that could unravel the world to them.
Jammu and Kashmir has been implementing the NEP in letter and the teachers are being trained to adopt the new methods of teaching. The training includes reaching out to the students and reading their minds so that they become bold and confident in their lives.
The enrollment in schools has increased by 14.5% and the government has been developing the necessary infrastructure for girls’ education, bridging gender gaps, developing Atal Tinkering Labs & Computer-Aided Learning centres. It has been providing scholarships, extending handholding for individual growth and ensuring quality education for all sections of society.
The education sector in Jammu and Kashmir is changing fast and is changing for the good. The NEP has revolutionized the education system and is helping the students to learn new methods and techniques.
