Jan Abhiyan : KVK Samba organizes animal treatment camp

Jammu: SKUAST-Jammu on Tuesday under Jan Abhiyan Programme, KVK Samba organised a mega Animal Treatment Camp at Gaushala in Village Tapyal (Ghagwal) of Samba.

All such activities have been framed under the dynamic leadership of Prof J.P. Sharma, Vice Chancellor SKUAST Jammu and supervision of Director Extension Prof. Surinder Kumar Gupta. More than 75 participants including farmers actively participated.

On this occasion, Prof. J.P. Sharma Vice Chancellor SKUAST Jammu was the Chief Guest, Anuradha Gupta (JKAS), Deputy Commissioner Samba was the Guest of Honour, Abhishek Mahajan (IPS), SSP Samba, Prof. S.K.Gupta , Director Extension, Suresh Kumar DDC Member Ghagwal and Yudishter Singh, President Rashtriya Go raksha Vahini Samba were the Special Guests of the programme.

Prof. J.P. Sharma Vice Chancellor inaugurated the Animal Treatment Camp under Jan Abhiyan at Gaushala, Ghagwal. During the Animal Treatment Camp, out of 102 cattles, 30-40 cattles were treated on spot along with distribution of medicines, mineral mixtures, appetizer, tick repellant, acaricid, tonics etc by the team of Faculty of Veterinary Sciences SKUAST Jammu.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. J.P. Sharma, Vice Chancellor assured all type of technical assistance and guidance by KVK Samba for the establishment of Vermi compost unit through Department of Agriculture Samba. He also assured, the treating animals will be regularly monitored by the experts from Faculty of Veterinary Sciences R.S Pura.

He also emphasized District Administration, Samba to provide infrastructure to the Gaushala like  constructing sheds, floor work etc through any scheme under Department of Animal Husbandry or any other Centrally Sponsored Scheme. Prof. Sharma further instructed all the line departments to activily work coordination with the district administration samba including KVK Samba for overall improvement of Ghagwal Gaushala and timely supply of the necessary inputs.

Anuradha Gupta, Deputy Commissioner, Samba complimented KVK Samba for this good cause and  assured all possible help from District Administration for mitigating the needs of Animals in Gaushala by providing medicines and technical support through Department of Animal Husbandry. She also appreciated the efforts of District Police Samba for this noble cause.

Abhishek Mahajan (IPS), SSP Samba also appreciated the efforts of Police Station Ghagwal as well as the social workers (Gaurakshaks) for providing help to the animals such as fodder and feeds etc. He also lauded the efforts of KVK Samba for organizing Animal Treatment Camp at Gaushala and assured all possible help from Police Department. He also urged the local youth of district Samba to come forward for the noble cause on regular basis.
