Srinagar: Continuing with its outreach initiative into South Kashmir, NCC Group HQ Srinagar has organized a NCC training camp for the cadets in Pulwama.
The camp, which commenced on 11 Oct 2022, is being conducted by 1 J&K Battalion NCC, in South Kashmir after a long gap and has provided an excellent opportunity to more than 150 Cadets from the region to attend a NCC Camp closer to their home.
Notably, due to absence of suitable NCC training infrastructure in the region the cadets from South Kashmir are required to travel long distance to Srinagar or Jammu to attend NCC camps, which are an essential part of NCC curriculum.
The long distance travel and consequent loss of precious academic days was always a dampener for the cadets and their parents who were not comfortable in sending their children far away from home.
This camp has been possible due to favorable and spontaneous support from Dilbagh Singh, DGP, JK Police and Tanveer Jeelani, Principal CTC Lethpora who provided all the available infrastructure support for the conduct of the camp.
It is expected that conduct of such NCC training camps closer home will further motivate the Youth of South Kashmir to join the NCC and grow into responsible citizen of the country.
