ANTF arrests 2 narco dealers

Srinagar: Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) on Tuesday arrested two narco dealers and recovered a huge quantity of Hashish from a vehicle on way from Sopore, Srinagar to Jammu, a police statement said.

ā€œOn receiving a specific input, ANTF launched a search operation for the said truck bearing registration number JK05G-8000, which was found parked near transport yard Narwal-Channi,Jammu,ā€ a statement said.

ā€œOn thorough checking of said vehicle, huge quantity of Hashish was recovered and two Narco dealers were arrested from the said vehicle, who have been identified as Ghulam Geelani Khan, son of Mangta Khan and Basharat Ahmad, son of Noor Alamā€”both residents of Pehli-pura, Baramulla.ā€

Total contraband Hashish weighing 26.580 kgs (approx) has been recovered which was being carried by these smugglers for delivery outside the J&K UT, the statement said.

Accordingly, a case under FIR number 13/2022 under section 08/20/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu. The investigation is at initial stage and ANTF is investigating the forward and backward links of this consignment and more arrests are expected, the statement said.

Moreover, ANTF has appealed general public to share any information regarding such Narco dealers, so that strict actions under law can be taken against them. (KNO)
