JeM militant killed, soldier, 2 civilians injured in Kulgam encounter: Police

Kulgam: A Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) militant was killed, while an army soldier and two civilians were injured in an encounter in Batapora village of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday, police said here.

An official said that the encounter broke out in Batapora village this evening.

He said that in the ensuing encounter a Pakistani militant identified as Abu Hurarah of JeM outfit was killed, while an army soldier and two civilians were injured and they have been shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Police in a tweet also informed that incriminating materials including arms and ammunition have also been recovered.

“Killed #terrorist has been identified as Abu Hurarah, a foreign #Pakistani terrorist linked with proscribed terror outfit JeM. Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including AK rifle recovered,” police tweeted.

Earlier, police said that an Army soldier and two civilians were injured in the ongoing encounter, who have been injured and shifted to hospital for treatment.

“01 Army soldier & 02 civilians got injured in the ongoing #encounter. All the 03 injured shifted to hospital for treatment. #Operation going on. Further details shall follow,” police had tweeted. (KNO)
