Srinagar: A nine-year-old boy was rescued under mysterious circumstances from a village in Awura area of Kupwara district this evening, sources said.
They said that a boy was found tied with ropes and his mouth duct-taped at a local Panchayat house premises in Awura-A. The boy was soon after rescued and taken to SDH Kupwara for necessary treatment, they said.
The boy has been identified as Basit Ghaffar Khan, son of Abdul Ghaffar Khan.
A police official said that a boy is undergoing treatment as of now. “Necessary details as they emerge will be shared accordingly”, the official said. (GNS)
