Kulgam: At least 12 dumpers, nine smart phones and five jacks and other important tools were seized by Geology and Mining Department last night in Kulgam district.
As per official spokesman, a team from Geology and Mining Kulgam led by DMO, Dr Khurshid while on patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area found 12 dumpers illegal mining. The vehicles were seized by officials for further legal proceedings.
The locals while hailing the efforts of Dr Khurshid said that he is generating crores of rupees to revenue.
On being contacted, Dr. Khurshid said that on the instructions of DC,the drive against violators will continue in the district.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat has already cautioned the field staff of the Geology and Mining Department to remain vigilant and alert against violators and illegal miners if found involved in illegal mining activities.
It is worthwhile to mention here that Geology and Mining Department is continuously holding inspections during daytime and night hours in the areas having apprehension of illegal mining activities in the district. (CNS)
