Srinagar: Militants on Wednesday attacked a police vehicle in Allochibagh bund area of Srinagar on Wednesday evening. There was no casualty reported in this incident, police said.
“In Allochibagh bund area of Srinagar, (militant) fired upon a vehicle bound small police party. This was effectively retaliated by the police party,” the police said in a tweet. “(Militants) took advantage of darkness & ran away towards built up area.” No injury or other damage took place, the police said. “CASO launched in area”.
Meanwhile an army trooper was injured after his colleague’s rifle went off accidentally in Frisal area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
A senior police officer said that due to accidental fire one army soldier received injuries in a finger and was immediately shifted to nearby hospital for treatment. (GNS)
