Nobody should object to flag at home: Omar

Srinagar: National Conference (NC) leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that there should no objection to the raising of the national flag at home.

He, however, said no should be forced to hoist the flag.

“Why should anybody have an objection? It is the flag of our country and the government has allowed us to unfurl it at home,” he told the media. “At the same time there should not be any force in hoisting it.”

“Nobody should stop anyone from unfurling the national flag too… against his will and choice,” he said.

He said there were reports that school children were being asked to deposit money for the flag and salaries of employees being cut for a flag charge. “These allegations need to be looked into”, he added. (UNI)
