2 Army men killed as many injured in fratricide firing at Poonch

Jammu: Two Army personnel died and as many injured in an alleged incident of fratricide in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Defence sources said four army personnel suffered injuries this morning in a firing incident that took place inside an army camp in Surankote area of Poonch district.

“One of the jawans reportedly in a fit of anger opened fire at his colleagues and later shot himself with service rifle,” sources added.

They said the exact reason of the firing incident is not known, adding, “Two among the injured have succumbed to injuries during the treatment.”

Police, however, have registered a case and started investigation. (UNI)
