J&K logs 118 fresh Covid-19 cases

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Thursday reported 118 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 665 even as no death was reported in the last 24 hours.

An official told a local news gathering agency that among 118 new cases, 51 belong to Kashmir division while 67 to Jammu division.

He said that a total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 288,256 including 285,605 recoveries and 2,425 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 167,450 including 164,679 recoveries and 2,332 deaths.

He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 665 including 226 from Kashmir division and 439 from Jammu division.

With 94 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached 450,284 which is 98.80 percent of the total cases.

“Among the fresh 118 cases today, 36 are from Srinagar, 02 from Baramulla, 11 from Kupwara and one each from Anantnag and Bandipora in Kashmir division while 67 are from Jammu division that include 50 from Jammu district, 03 from Udhampur, 04 from Rajouri, two each from Kathua and Kishtwar, 05 from Ramban and 01 from Samba,” said the official.

As per the daily information bulletin 6,595,999 persons in J&K are under observation while 242 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 665 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 6,589,997 persons have completed the surveillance period and 338 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 25,841,497 samples are available.

“Out of 25,841,497 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,385,791 while 455,706 have tested positive, among them 665 cases are active, 450,284 have recovered and 4,757 persons have died,” it added. (KNO)
