1 killed, 2 injured in gas cylinder explosion at Kudara, B’pora

ACR provides Rs 50k cash assistance to affected families

Bandipora: In a tragic incident, a 19-year-old youth was killed while two others including a minor were injured in a gas cylinder blast at Kudara village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday, officials said.

The house has also suffered damage in the incident, the officials said.

An official said that the blast took place inside the house of Mohammad Shafi, resulting in on spot death of one person and injuries to two others including a minor. “In the incident, the residential house also got completely damaged,” he said.

The official said that following the incident injured were rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Incharge BMO Bandipora, Dr Fayaz Ahmad said that two people including a minor with burn injuries were brought to PHC Chuntimulla where from they were shifted to district hospital Bandipora for treatment.

He identified the deceased as Sajad Ahmad Khan, son of Faroz Ahmad Khan of Qudara and said his body was handed over to his relatives after legal medical formalities.

Meanwhile, a police official said that they have registered a case under relevant sections of laws and has started investigation.

Moreover, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Bandipora Parvaiz Rahim accompanied by Naib Tehsildar Bandipora Abdul Rashid and other concerned officers visited fire victims whose residential house gutted in a fire incident caused by Gas cylinder Blast.

“His team conducted on-site inspection of damage caused by Gas cylinder Blast in which a house gutted completely,” an official said, adding that the team provided immediate relief of Rs.50000 to the affected families besides blankets, utensils, Ration and other essentials.

The ACR also assured every possible support from district administration to the victims. (KNO)
