Dalai Lama to visit Ladakh on July 15

Jammu: Almost after two years, the spiritual guru and Buddhist leader 14th Dalai Lama will be visiting Ladakh on July 15.

The 87th Birthday of Dalai Lama was celebrated by the people of Ladakh on Wednesday.

In the midst of preparations for the Dalai Lama’s visit, the Traffic Police has imposed several restrictions from July 6 till his presence in Ladakh.

The movement of vehicles has been banned from Mahabodhi-Sindhu bend towards Choglamsar, Chushot, Spituk and Leh axis.

On Wednesday, at Jewesal in Shey area of Leh, the Dalai Lama’s photograph was offered traditional clothes, Khatak and the devotees wished him a long and healthy life.

The celebrations were also held at some other places in the district.

The Ladakh Buddhist Association in June visited Dharamsala and invited the Dalai Lama to visit Ladakh. (UNI)
