JKCA Title: Parvez’s magic overpowers Henan Malik, Ramdayal’s brilliance as  Kashmir defeats Jammu

Srinagar: It was a brilliant all-round performance show by Parvez Rasool that overpowered the brilliance of Henan Malik and Ramdayal helping JKCA Orange defeat JKCA Blue by 5 wickets in the summit clash of Senior Men’s One-Day Tournament played here at picturesque Sher-e-Kashmir International Cricket Stadium.
Put into bat first, JKCA Blue started tumbling with Umar Nazir’s early strikes. However, later Henan Malik, with a top score of  53 runs, and Ramdayal 46 runs, put up a formidable partnership of 90 runs to take the score to 144 runs. Abid Mushtaq scored 19 runs while Jatin Wadhawan and Suryansh Raina contributed 11 and 10 runs respectively to reach a modest total of 165 runs.
For JKCA Blue, Parvez Rasool took 4 wickets by conceding 28 runs, while Nasir Lone took three crucial wickets. Umar Nazir bagged two and Shahrukh Dar claimed one wicket each.
Chasing the target, JKCA Orange after their early blows managed to ride on a brilliant partnership between Parvez Rasool and Sheikh Usaid to chase the required target in just 33.3 overs to win the match by 5 wickets.
Rasool scored a brilliant  77 runs, while Usaid contributed with valuable 53 runs.
For JKCA Blue, Ramdayal, Sahil Lotra and Ritik Singh claimed one wicket each.
Ritik Singh was declared as the best bowler and most promising player of the tournament while Henan Malik was adjudged as the best batter. Abid Mushtaq was named as the best all-rounder and Asif Ramzan was declared as the best wicketkeeper.
Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary to Government, Youth Services and Sports Department who was the chief guest at the occasion, lauded the JKCA for holding the event saying that the JKCA has already produced International and IPL stuff in Umran Malik, Abdul Samad, Parvez Rasool, Ian Dev Singh and Shubham Khajuria etc. He said that with the initiatives like this, the time is ripe to see more and more Umrans blossoming at the National scene.
