Principal GMC Srinagar to be Chairperson of panel
Srinagar: The Health and Medical Education Department has reconstituted a complaint committee to look into the allegations of sexual harassment of women at workplace.
As per order, Principal Government Medical College Srinagar Dr Samia Rashid will be chairman of the committee.
“In supersession of Government Order No. 818-JK (HME) of 2020 dated 23.10.2020 on the subject and in pursuance of Section 4(1) of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal). Act, 2013, sanction is hereby accorded to the re-constitution of the Complaint Committee, comprising the following to register and enquire into and dispose of the complaints, if any, of sexual harassment against women employee(s) of the Health & Medical Education Department & its Subordinate Offices,” reads an order issued by Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Principal Secretary to Government, Health & Medical Education Department.
As per order, Dr. Shashi Sudan Sharma, Principal, Government Medical College, Jammu, Lotika Khajuria, Controller, Drug & Food Control Organization, J&K and any other member co-opted by the Chairperson will be members of the committee.
“The committee shall submit its report on each complaint received by it regarding sexual harassment against women employees of the department and filing quarterly /annual reports about the total number of complaints received enquired by and action taken on the same to the Government in Health and Medical Education Department,” the order reads.
