Song shot to boost, promote tourism of region: Waheed Jeelani

Pune: For the first time in the history of Jammu & Kashmir, Waheed Jeelani, an internationally known Music Composer, Singer and a filmmaker, presented a fine compilation of all major forms of Kashmiri music and dance in one song, capturing the true essence of rich cultural heritage of Kashmir.

The song has been shot at various beautiful locations with an aim to boost and promote the tourism of the region.

With English subtitles, the song wattan is all about the motherland—Kashmir, in which nearly 150 performing artists, intellectuals, and famous personalities have featured in its audio visual production, Waheed Jeelani said.

For the first time in the history of Kashmiri culture, a unique anthem as such is being presented, expressing the immense love for the homeland, and also for the upliftment of the rich art and talented artists, Jeelani further added.

The Music video Wattan conceived & composed by Waheed Jeelani and Directed by well-known  Umer Imtiyaz, Amin Bhat and Waheed Jeelani, who is also the producer of this video, is written by renowned poet and scholar Manshoor Banihaali, excerpts from the poetry of Gyan peith Awardee Prof. Rahman Rahi, Sahitya Akademi awardee poet  Naseem Shifai.

Trend setter poet Shahnaz Rashid has added value and contributed a lot in this unique production.

Different aspects of Kashmir’s socio-cultural life make it realistic and in tune with the traditions of Kashmir is the compliment it has earned from the art and Kashmir lovers.

This unique music video was one of the main attractions at Sarhad’s J&K International Film Festival, got the best special jury award at its first screening at Pune.

This music video Wattan will be screened at Srinagar soon and will also be officially released for general public and Kashmiri music lovers across the world.
