MS Jaggerpora temporarily shifted to HS Jaggerpora: CEO Kupwara

Srinagar: Authorities of Kupwara district on Friday said that UPS Bunpora Jaggerpora is not in good condition and is being temporarily shifted to nearby high school.

A section of print media had reported that the dilapidated school building poses threat to lives in Jaggerpora following which top authorities had sought report from DC Kupwara, who asked the CEO Kupwara to submit the report.

The CEO in his report said that the school was sanctioned to the village in 2003 as primary school under SSA and a three roomed building was also constructed under the scheme.

The school, CEO said was upgraded in 2008 and another two storey building was constructed for the school.

He said that the rain waters off and on affect the building and caused cracks in the same leaving it in bad condition.

“The school is being temporarily amalgamated with high school Jaggerpora to overcome the accommodation till the building is reconstructed, renovated,” the CEO said.

The construction of kitchen shed and repair of toilet block, CEO said, has already been reflected in SAMAGRA plan formulation for the school in 2022-2023.
