Agniveers will be given priority in recruitment to Central Police Forces: Amit Shah

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that under the Agneepath scheme, Agni Veers who have completed four years of service in the three wings of the defence forces will be given priority in matters of recruitment for the Central Police Forces and Assam Rifles.

Congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiating the Agneepath scheme, Shah on Wednesday tweeted that this scheme is a visionary move and a step towards giving the youth of the country a brighter future. He further said that the Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to give priority to Agni Veerans in the matter of recruitment in Central Police Forces and Assam Rifles after completion of their tenure of four years.

He said, ‘Agneepath Yojana’ is a visionary and welcome decision of Narendra Modi ji for the bright future of the youth. In this context, today the Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to give priority to Agniveers who have completed 4 years under this scheme in Central Police Forces and Assam Rifles.

In another tweet, Shah said, With this decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the youth recruited under ‘Agneepath Yojana’ will be able to contribute to the service and security of the country even better. Detailed planning work has started on this decision.

It is noteworthy that the Security Affairs Committee of the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, had approved the launch of a new scheme named Agneepath for the recruitment of soldiers from the three services.
