PET, PST tests for Women battalions conclude at Humhama

Srinagar: Two days Physical Endurance Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) for recruitment in 02 women battalions in J&K police evoked huge response.  The two day-long tests were held at RTC Ground in Humhama in Budgam District in which hundreds of women from Kashmir participated.

The first day was kept for the women from Bandipora, Baramulla and Budgam, Kupwara and 2nd day of the event was kept for the women from Anantnag, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Pulwama, Shopian and Srinagar.

During these two days around 1823 women from Kashmir Districts were scheduled to appear in the tests.  A total of 729 aspirants appeared on the first day of the schedule and 655 appeared in the 2nd day.  A total of 836 aspirants qualified the physical test. 797 aspirants from across the Kashmir valley have already qualified the physical test conducted in June last year. As such 1633 aspirants have qualified PET/PST.

The candidates who have qualified the physical test will have to appear in the written test for which schedule will be issued separately by the board.

The two women battalions would be raised exclusively for women . The move is aimed at equipping the J&K Police to effectively deal with crimes against the women and give them due representation as well as increase the presence of the women in the Police force.
