Accused wanted in rape case of specially abled girl arrested

Jammu: Police have arrested an accused wanted in a rape case of specially abled girl in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The police spokesman said an accused wanted in a case of rape of a specially abled girl identified as Sham Sunder of Laroka, Tehsil Qila Darhal, district Rajouri has been taken into custody.

He said on June 3, a case was registered in Police Station Nowshera on a complaint received from the family.

“The accused was at large but the police team led by SHO Rajesh Jasrotia and Incharge PP Bhawani, PSI Rajat Sharma launched a manhunt and arrested him from Bari Brahmana area of Samba,” police added.

The legal formalities are under progress, he said.
