‘Issue of building taken up with higher ups’
Srinagar: The Health authorities on Monday said that health center Machipora has been upgraded as New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) and one medical officer, a pharmacist and MMPHW are working at the facility.
A local daily had a few days ago reported that the health center was confined to papers only following which the top authorities sought report from the concerned Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
Block Medical Officer (BMO) Handwara in his report submitted to higher ups said that the health center Machpora has been upgraded as NTPHC and a post of medical officer has been sanctioned to the health facility.
“The medical officer of the NTPHC was deputex to attend mega health camp at SDH Kupwara and was relieved from this office on June 1 and directed to report to his original place of posting at Machpora,” BMO said in his report.
BMO said that the issue regarding the buildings has been taken up with higher authorities for further course of action.
