LG condoles Pt Bhajan Sopori’s demise, pays tributes to slain Army soldier  

SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha expressed grief over the sad demise of Santoor maestro Pandit Bhajan Sopori.

In a condolence message, the Lt Governor said, “I am deeply grieved to learn about demise of Santoor maestro Pandit Bhajan Sopori. In his passing away Indian classical music has lost one of its most talented artistes. He also made invaluable contribution as a member of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board. Deepest condolences to family and countless admirers”.
Meanwhile, the Lieutenant Governor paid tributes to  Naik Praveen Singh, an Army soldier who laid down his life in the line of duty in Shopian.
“I salute the courage and sacrifice of our braveheart Army jawan, Naik Praveen Singh who laid down his life in the line of duty in Shopian. His service to the nation and supreme sacrifice will always be remembered. My heartfelt condolences to the martyr’s family in this hour of grief”, said the Lt Governor.
