New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday shared an article of NaMo App’s Vikas Yatra section which lauded the steps taken by the government to honour nation builders of modern India including Mahatma Gandhi, Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Subhas Chandra Bose.
As the Modi government completes eight years at the Center, the article details the work done by the government to remember the nation builders.
“This year we mark Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, an occasion to pay tributes to our freedom fighters. This article on the NaMo App’s Vikas Yatra section gives you a glimpse of how India is remembering the greats who built our nation,” said Prime Minister Modi in a tweet.
“Honouring the contributions made by the freedom fighters and the nation builders in these 75 years of journey of our democratic nation has been a top priority of the Modi government in the last 8 years.”
From cleanliness to the revival of Khadi, from environment conservation to last-mile delivery of benefits, the noble ideals of Mahatma Gandhi guide the Modi Government’s vision and work, the article said.
The article terms development of five places related to Dr Smbedkar: Panchteerth, as an honour to the architect of the Indian Constitution.
The five places are: Ambedkar’s birthplace in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, his memorial in London where he stayed while studying in the UK, Deeksha Bhoomi in Nagpur where he took education, Mahaparinirvan Sthal in Delhi and Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai.
The article mentioned construction of ‘The Statue of Unity’ as a step to honour the contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
It said a grand statue of Netaji Bose will be installed at India Gate as “a symbol of India’s love for him”.
The article also mentioned establishment of Kranti Mandir at Red Fort paying homage to unsung heroes of the freedom struggle, development of Tribal Freedom Fighter Museums all over India, the upgradation of the Jallianwala Bagh memorial as some other steps Prime Minister Modi took to ensure that the nation pays rich tributes to its heroes.
