Srinagar: Roads and Buildings Department on Tuesday said that the project for the repair of the Awathkul Keran road in Kupwara stands framed and submitted to the higher ups for administrative approval.
The residents of the area had staged a protest seeking repair of the road. They had alleged that the road was in bad condition and awaits repair for several years.
The issue was highlighted by a section of print media following which the authorities sought report from the concerned officials.
The executive engineer , R and B division Kupwara in his report to the government said that the DPR for the road has already been framed and submitted to superintending Engineer under NABARD RIDF XXVII for the accord of administrative / technical sanction at the estimated cost of 725.00 lakhs.
The report said that the work on the road will be started soon after the project is accorded sanction.
