Jammu: A youth died of suspected drug overdose on Monday in Phallian Mandal area here in the city outskirts.
Police said that a complaint was lodged by the family that the deceased had consumed some poisonous substance or intoxicant after which he was taken to the Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar and was referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
“The youth died during the treatment and initially it is because of suspected drug overdose,” hospital sources said.
Meanwhile, police confirmed the death of the youth and said postmortem report is awaited to know the exact cause.
