Aneesha becomes first J&K shooter named in Indian squad

Jammu:  Aneesha Sharma has become the first shooter from Jammu and Kashmir to be selected in Indian Shooting Squad.

The shooter on Tuesday called on the Director General of Police, J&K, Dilbag Singh here at Police Headquarters.

Singh, who is also the Chairman of J&K Rifle Association, congratulated Aneesha for her achievements and hoped that she would continue to bring laurels to UT and the nation in future as well.

The DGP assured all possible help and assistance to the budding shooter and also sanctioned a cash reward of Rs 10,000 with a commendation certificate.

She has secured her place in the Indian Shooting Team with the average score of 622.8 at national level under the guidance of coach Vishal Mehra. Aneesha has also been shortlisted for Khelo India Youth Games.
The first coaching camp of Indian Shooting Squad will commence from May 1 to 18 in New Delhi, India.

Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, President J&K Rifle Association, S.S Sodhi, Treasurer J&K Rifle Association, Inspector Sharat Chander Singh, Vice President (Administration) J&K Rifle Association were also present on the occasion.
