‘Water supply to Padawbal area managed through water tankers’

Ganderbal: The district administration today said that the area of Padawbal is at the tail end of Chervan area, hence facing shortage of water supply.

In a statement on Twitter, the administration said that the proposal under sector was submitted for L/F additional raw water main and construction of 50,000 gls capacity SSFP was submitted and works stands allotted, however the pipes for RWM could not be available which could have improved the water supply in the area.
Further the land for construction of 0.50 lac gallons capacity RCC SSFP for Cheerwan is allotted to the contractor, but the work could not be taken up for execution due to land issue with PDC.

The matter has been taken up by the PDC and the administration for redressal. Presently water supply is being managed from Cherwan scheme and shortage if any is managed by tankers, further reads the statement.
