Ramban: The Kashmir Warriors (Heff) today won the Ramban Cricket League which was played at District Police Lines Stadium at Ramban.
After winning the toss, the captain of the Shining Star Ramban decided to bat first. The Ramban team made a brilliant start but failed to capitalize. Bilal Padder of Kashmir Warriors made a fiery spell by taking two wickets in his allotted four overs. The Shining Star Ramban were bundled at 115 runs in 18.4 overs. Adil Lone alias Adil Don was praised for his brilliant fielding performance. Muzzafar Ganaie of Kashmir Warriors took three wickets and played a fiery knock of 24 runs in just 10 balls by hitting two huge sixes. Kashmir Warriors won the match in just 16.4 overs. During the chase Kashmir Warriors lost six wickets.
The Kashmir Warriors team was led by Captain Sameer Showkin while Shining Star Ramban was led by their Captain Sanjay Verma. It was a rare occasion where teams from two divisions of J&K reached the finals of the much hyped league. The spectators appreciated both the teams for their efforts and thanked the organisers for organising such cricketing events.
The winning team was given a reward of One lakh rupees and the runner up were rewarded with 50 thousand cash. Verma was also adjudged man of the series.
