NIA conducts raids in Srinagar

Srinagar, Mar 27: The sleuths of National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday conducted raids in summer capital Srinagar, officials said.
NIA conducted raids at Sonwar Bagh in summer capital Srinagar in “the case pertaining to collection and transfer of funds by certain Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs), trusts, societies and organization on behalf of separatists/militant organizations in order to sustain secessionist and militant activities in Kashmir valley”, a statement of the NIA said.
The search conducted today at the premises of a “suspect person led to recovery of documents related to financial transactions”, the NIA statement said and added further investigation in the case continues.
The NIA did not specify the name of the persons and the residence where it had conducted the raid today.
However, the reports said NIA carried out searches at the residence of jailed human rights activist Khurram Parvaiz at his Sonawar residence in Srinagar, in connection with a case already registered at NIA.
On Thursday in Delhi- special NIA Judge, Praveen Singh sent Khurram Parvez, to judicial custody for 50 days in an alleged militant funding case. (UNI)
