‘Work on the college at the identified site in progress’
Srinagar: Higher education aithorities have termed the reports of relocation of the government degree college Parmandal in Samba district as baseless saying that the work on the college is going on smoothly at the original site.
A statement issued by the authorities said that the government in 2019 sanctioned a degree college for district Samba. Subsequently , the statement said land measuring about 43 kanals was identified at village Parmandal for construction of the college in Tehsil Badi Brahmna.
The then Tehsildar handedover the possession of the land to the principal GDC Samba and then nodal officer for GDC Parmandal for establishment of the college.
The foundation stone of the college building was laid by the then commissioner secretary , industries and commerce , Navin Chodry in presence of the then divisional commissioner Jammu and DC Samba.
The administrative approval , statement said , has been accorded for the college , work allotted and construction of the building is in progress at the site identified and at which the foundation stone was laid in 2019.
The statement further said that the construction of the college building has allotted to a private construction company.
Relocation of the college , the statement said , is completely baseless.
