Srinagar, Mar 24: The Public Health Engineering (PHE) authorities on Thursday said that a new Water Supply Scheme (WSS) is presently under execution, which is set to provide water supply to various villages of Hind.
A statement issued by the PHE authorities said that the old Water Supply Scheme meant for the area has outlived its design period, thus resulting into shortage of water.
The people of several habitations including Balti Mohalla, New colony Rayil and Mudpora had complained of acute shortage of water, highlighting the issue through a section of print media.
Regarding Kullan area, the statement said, the Water Supply Scheme is almost physically completed. “The commissioning of the WSS is subjected to redressal of land issue,” the statement added.
