Govt forms committee to suggest panels for JKBOSE, JKSCERT heads

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir government on Monday constituted a Search Committee for suggesting panels for appointment of Chairman, JKBOSE and Director, JKSCERT.

Headed by Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Health & Medical Education Department, the committee comprises of Principal Secretary to the Government, Higher Education Department; Principal Secretary to the Government, School Education Department, Vice- Chancellor, University of Jammu and Vice- Chancellor, University of Kashmir.

“The Committee shall be serviced by the School Education Department,” reads an order.

The incumbent chairman of  JK Board of School Education (JKBOSE) Veena Pandita was reappointed on 6 July 2020 for a period of two more years. Pandita retired from her services on April 30, 2020 but her term as JKBOSE Chairperson was extended by the government till June 30 that year amid COVID-19 lockdown then. On April 5 2018, Pandita was appointed as permanent Chairperson of Board for a period of two years. In all she would completing four years term when the incumbent is posted as the chairman of the JKBOSE.
